Meeting Notes for Jan 23
Funnel
The site is now on autopilot and all that needs to be done is to send traffic using the methods listed in the funnel diagram:
- blogs
- ads
From here all it is is a numbers game, all that matters now is your conversion rate and will only have to optimize the landing pages as needed.
- watching user interaction and determining any improvements
- updating the copy
- adding new videos

Email Campaigns
The email campaigns will automatically reengage any users that have had any interaction on the website and will automatically discard any low quality leads (unengaged)
The email campaigns will automatically move users up the lead quality ladder
Low Quality:
- unengaged and never opens any email campaigns
- does not visit the website
Medium Quality:
- opens emails and proceeds to use the site, reads blogs, downloads offers.
High Quality Leads:
- uses the coupons
- adds to cart
- checks out
Reason why we needed a new website
The main reason is that the old site was hard to develop on and with any good business, iteration is key. Also, due to shopify's limitations there was only so much I could do about the speed of the website.
Another reason is that the language strategy to target different languages would be expensive and difficult to develop. As well as time consuming.
Further, perhaps the least determining factor, but still a factor at scale. Shopify charges a 2-3% fee on top of the payment gateway fee per transaction, so essentially you will be paying anywhere from 5-6% per transaction, plus the $30 per month bill.
I found this really useful blog (opens in a new tab) that explains very well the detriments of shopify
From other users perspective this is a useful reddit post (opens in a new tab)
